The International Marine Electronics Alliance (IMEA), a 501 (c)(3) supporting organization of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), is expanding its scholarship program to encourage and support students interested in a career in marine electronics. The goal is to alleviate the marine electronics industry worker shortage through education of students to become technical installers of marine electronics and increase the number of qualified new employees for NMEA member companies. Scholarships will be awarded to students who aspire to enter into the exciting career of marine electronics. The IMEA scholarship program is focused on students who are entering into or currently enrolled in a trade school marine technology program, with a focus on marine electronics.

2023 Scholarship Program Details
- The IMEA Board of Directors will review and award scholarships by July 31, 2023
- All applicants must fill out the IMEA / NMEA Scholarship form.
- All applications must be submitted by June 30, 2023.
- Funds will be sent to scholarship winners by August 15, 2023 in time for the start of the Fall semester.
- Any member of the general public can apply for this scholarship.
- Additional information may be requested after application has been reviewed.
The 2023 IMEA Scholarship program award includes:
- $5,000 tuition payments made directly to applying student’s trade school to offset tuition costs.
- NMEA Basic MEI training Certification class.
- NMEA 2000 Basic Installer Training Certification class.
